Black Dutch Sioux plays a mixture of rock ‘n’ roll, blues and soul that is all their own. The band was formed when Ross Shifflett, J.D. Wakefield, Josh Morrison and John Wright found they shared the connection of growing up in Graham, TX. Their influences include, but are not limited to Robert Johnson, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix, Clutch and Credence Clearwater Revival.
Ross Shifflett is the group’s frontman. With his solo experience, (two previous solo albums) and songwriting abilities, the talented singer can seduce audiences and wow them with his guitar prowess. John Wright, the lead guitarist in Black Dutch Sioux, has a style that originates in Deep South and Chicago blues and permeates through their music. Wakefield’s drums not only breathe life into the band, but have a hauntingly powerful presence that is carefully calculated to strengthen and enhance every song. Finally, Morrison’s bass and harmonica skills allow the band to be the very versatile monster that they are.
